Proofread Edit

Service Inclusions

  • Make sure there are no grammar mistakes, and that all sentences make sense.

    — Clarity, Correctness, Conciseness, Coherence, and Completion (which would have been checked during an L/C edit) are looked at again in this stage to ensure they were edited fully.

  • Fact-checking

    — This usually happens in non-fiction books, but can also take place during the editing of a fiction book.

    — Ensure that any information that directly corresponds with or mirrors reality is correct.

  • Ensure the correct type of English was used

    — Australian/UK “British” English rules v.s. American English rules for spelling, ‘re’ words, and hyphens

  • Final read-through

    — No editor is perfect, so the proofread makes sure nothing was accidently overlooked or missed during the first two types of editing.
