Who is a.s.worthington?
Anisa Worthington is a young adult who has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in English Literature and Creative Writing. If there's one thing she's learned throughout her degree and career, it's that stories have purpose and meaning.
One story – regardless of the genre – can save a life, changing it completely. The life-changing power writing possesses, and the Percy Jackson series she read as a pre-teen, are what sparked her interest in the English language at a young age. Since then, she knew she was going to carve out a career in English.
She loves reading.
She loves analyzing.
She loves editing.
The perfect combination.
However, in between sports, listening to nearly every music genre created, and taking her dog, Mr. Mason, on walks, she always had these stories in her head. Until university, she thought it would be more fulfilling to ignore these stories and instead help others by editing their stories first. Yet, constantly learning about the English language and the multiple theories behind creating stories has taught her how to place the stories she saw around her onto paper, not to mention, it constantly kept her entertained.
Now, she works both as a freelance editor and a fantasy and contemporary fiction author. While she edits across multiple genres, Anisa writes stories that are inherently about magic and love, weaving one or, often, both elements into her stories. Because that’s what she believes storytelling is. Magic. Ever since she was young, she’s had this unwavering belief. She credits Rick Riordan, Shakespeare, and the many musicals her mother would play on repeat for this belief, too.
From growing up in Texas, USA, to settling in Sydney, NSW, reading, analysing, and imagining stories has been a constant in Anisa’s life. And it will continue to be one. If she isn’t sitting beside Mr. Mason with her nose buried in a book – either reading or providing an editing service – she’s listening to music and daydreaming about future fantastical adventure stories.

Favourite Stories!
More than one page would be needed to list all of Anisa’s favourites - it’s like picking a favourite child or best book boyfriend. There are way too many, and they are all great - something to learn or take from - in every story.
That said, here are some stories that have stuck with her since she read them. These are the stories that shape her own writing and from which she has learned (and loves to use) incredible technique and skill.
The Percy Jackson and The Olympians Series by Rick Riordan
And every single book in this universe…
Dracula by Bram Stoker
A Midsummer Night's Dream by Shakespeare
Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare

She also does ARC reviews, alongside monthly group book reviews at the end of each month. These ‘monthly reads’ are less detailed as they normally consist of two to four books.
