Line/Copy Editing

An LC edit looks at the “personal”, the techniques used within each line of the story.

This is where an editor will look at the specific trees in the forest, at each branch, and how each tree benefits the one next to it, as well as looking at all the animals and roots too; they see how everything inside interacts based on the image they have of the forest as a whole.

P.S. - This type of editing takes the longest

Completion Timeframe

  • One round of editing will take an average of three weeks per round.

  • If choosing the offered two rounds, the total completion time is six weeks.3

Sample Edit

  • I offer a free sample edit of the first 3000 words of the manuscript.

  • This ensures that my editing style, feedback delivery, and editorial sheet all make sense to you (the author)

After this edit, the manuscript can be sent off to Beta readers.

  • — Spelling and Punctuation

    — Correct usage of numbers, cities, towns, etc

  • — Sentence Structure

    — The flow of sentences within a paragraph

  • — Clarity and pacing of the message being addressed

  • — Any and all writing techniques that have an impact on the tone of the story and the subsequent message being delivered as it relates to the genre and tropes

  • — Forwards, Dedications, Acknowledgements, About the Author, Blurbs, and Taglines will also be checked during this service, should those pages be supplied
